The Status of Communication Education in the Nation’s Community Colleges: Who Are We and What Do We Do?

Abstract

A comprehensive research project conducted by NCA’s Community College Section investigated the status of communication education in the nation’s community colleges. A 36-item survey included five areas of inquiry: (1) institutional, (2) departmental, (3) faculty characteristics, (4) instructional resources and (5) professional support. The project secured data from 290 public community colleges in the United States. Panelists will highlight and discuss the significant results from this unprecedented study.
