Oral Communication Competency: Instruments That Can Assess Cognitive, Behavioral, & Affective Measures

Abstract

The purpose of this short course will be to challenge participants to expand their operational definition of oral communication. Participants will be introduced to two stand-alone instruments and two computer-based instruments that are designed to assess cognitive, behavioral, and affective outcomes and augment classroom-based assessment tools.

We believe that these assessment instruments will be useful to other institutions, especially those that may be facing time and resource constraints.
