Navigating at the Intersections: How Collisions of Faiths Can Create Connections

Fri, November 16, 3:30 to 4:45pm, Chicago Hilton, Floor: Fourth Floor, Conference Room 4G

Session Submission Type: Panel Discussion

Abstract

This roundtable will be facilitated by communication scholars who teach, research, and serve at literal “intersections” of worldviews (e.g. a Mennonite at a Methodist college, etc.). The presenters will describe how these colliding spiritualities have created spaces of connection rather than separation; and, they will discuss how their unique localities influence both their spirituality and communication pedagogy. Participants will be challenged to explore how to use such “intersection experiences” to promote understanding across the chasm of contemporary worldviews.
