Light-Dark Archetypal Metaphors as Religious Rhetoric in Disney's 'The Princess and the Frog'

Mon, November 15, 8:00 to 9:15am, Parc 55 Hotel, Floor: Level 4, Davidson

Abstract

Allusions to Osborn's conception of the theory of "light-dark archetypal metaphors" provides the substance for a metaphorical rhetorical criticism of the 2009 animated feature, "The Princess and the Frog." The light and dark examples also reveal intertextual references to religious notions and biblical references.
