A meta-analysis was conducted to determine the impact media exposure and pressure/internalization has on disordered eating behaviors among males. A total of 16 studies contributed 20 effect sizes. Results revealed that internalization/pressure played a mediating role between exposure and disordered eating behaviors. As such, a second study was conducted to try and replicate this effect. Results from study 1 and study 2 suggest that pressure from the media can impact disordered eating behaviors.
