In the last two decades, scholars across disciplines have studied bridges between spirituality and work. Concurrently, faith-based organizations have focused on maintaining unique spiritual environments, with spiritual missions. For researchers, the missions become a prime avenue for understanding the implications of spirituality in organizations. This study explores mission in a faith-based healthcare system to examine how employees make sense of spiritual discourse. The research found employees make sense of mission by enacting or ignoring it.
