Towards a future we make: From conjure writing to communal spell casting

Abstract

The tools we use to dismantle are not the tools that we are given by masters; we witch/bruja writers, conjure women, and writers who identify as spiritual draw on ancestral wisdom and communal world-making power to create a sacred space for healing and justice. We will share the work of sister-ancestors as root-work; learn from non-human worlds to drive movement building; and explore how connection to land and spirit impact our social action. Finally, we will engage the gathered community in healing ritual, conjure writing, and spell casting. The workshop is split into 5 movements, framed by practices.
