The purpose of this presentation is to share initial psychometric results from vertically equating two problem-solving instruments for middle school students (i.e., grades six and seven). These measures are called the PSM6 and PSM7, respectively. Our presentation has two aims. The first is to describe the vertical linking process. The second is to offer quantitative results suggesting how students’ problem-solving performance on the PSM6 and PSM7 can be linked. Attendees are encouraged to share ideas for assessing students’ problem-solving performance at scale in a valid and reliable fashion.
