Description

The focus of this year’s Gender and Sexuality Working Group is concealable stigmatized identities (CSIs). Specifically, we will focus on pre-service teachers’ experiences with and views of CSIs (including gender and sexuality) in relation to mathematics teaching and learning. Prior to the conference, the leadership team of the working group collected questionnaire data from pre-service teachers, which will be shared and discussed during the working group. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with these data, hence developing a better understanding how CSIs can be investigated in mathematics education research. Participants will also share their own research and teaching experiences involving CSIs and intersectionality.
