Call for JURIED Papers

The 2007 Annual Meeting conference theme - "Social Change and Restructuring in Rural Societies: Opportunities and Vulnerabilities" - provides an opportunity for the Rural Sociological Society to highlight selected, juried papers on the program. We will do this through a juried review process.

All interested authors (individuals or teams) are encouraged to submit an abstract to the 2007 Rural Sociology Refereed Papers Committee for review by February 1, 2007 (this is the same deadline for all other proposals). All abstracts submitted for the competition will automatically be considered for placement in an appropriate, regular conference session if not selected for the special juried sessions that will showcase the selected papers. Those who submit abstracts must submit their completed papers via the RSS Conference website by April 15, 2007. Winners of the competition will be acknowledged and highlighted in the 2007 Program.

It is the intent of the Committee to compile selected papers into either an edited volume or special issue of Rural Sociology, the RSS Journal, centered on the conference theme.

Please consider participating in this special opportunity.

February 1, 2007 - DEADLINE for submitting proposals for research and interest-group sessions and panels. Submit abstracts for all other posters, papers, workshops, roundtables, and panels. Proposals must be submitted on at the RSS website.
