Session Type: Paper Session
Early adversity can derive from family-wide circumstances (such as economic adversity), parental dysfunction, or other factors, and the consequences of these experiences can be mediated by conditions within the child or the family. These papers examine a variety of adverse circumstances in a range of samples, and analyses denote their associations with outcomes such as child aggression, anger dysregulation, disruptive behavior, and even positive developmental outcomes. Together they contribute to a broadened understanding of the multilevel consequences of early experiences of adversity and their effects on a range of developmental processes.
