Session Type: Flash Talk Session
Effective regulation across physiological systems is integral to adaptive and healthy functioning. Conversely, myriad aspects of disruptions to physiological regulation undermine mental health and contribute to psychopathology. In this session, neural, autonomic, adrenocortical and immunological functioning is examined in relation to children's and adolescents' emotional and behavioral challenges, with nuanced attention to matters of context and timing. Collectively, these investigations bring new perspectives and understanding to the complex links between developmental psychophysiology and developmental psychopathology.
