The purpose of this study is to raise awareness about the growing aging population in the United States and to answer the research question; are respondents who state that their mother is in poor health more likely to also say that they are worried that they will live with their adult child? The hypothesis for this research is: if one rates their mother is in fair or poor health then the person will worry that they will have to live with their adult child when they themselves are older. With a growing aging population and a growing Hispanic population in the U.S. it is important to research this topic because it is predicted that by 2050 1 in 5 people will be above the age of 65, with 16% of the elderly population being Hispanic. The survey data used in this research comes from the 2010 General Social Survey.
